On October 20, 2014, The American Legion National Commander toured the Carlton Complex Fire Damage with a visit afterwards to the Brewster WA Legion Hall.

Commander Helm was honest and genuine describing his vision that the American Legion's Four Pillars of Service MUST be the foundation of our Organization.

"For God and Country..." The four pillars are:

Children & Youth

National Security

Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation

Americanism

I told National Commander Helm how our American Legion Post 0143 Methow Valley serves our community in Twisp WA by hanging flags on participating businesses in our town.

This is how we support our Veterans Hall along with membership dues and kindly donations from the community.

As Commander of our Post 0143, I would like to do more to serve our Veterans and our community at large.

The Four Pillars of Service are the Foundation for the FCC granting our Methow Valley Post a construction permit for our proposed Low-Power FM Radio Station.

Currently, money is the big issue holding us up right now. It will cost $12,000 to get the equipment to build our FM Station.

Commander Helm tells me about an American Legion Post which is prosperous and active WITHOUT a hall, with a website being credited for keeping them joined.

So I go on thinking about the importance of our website and am committed to success in this area.

Our website is growing every day and will someday reach the level I anticipate.

Our Radio Station Call Letters are KFAC. I will be playing Methow Music that is royalty free... 100% Donated Music.

Creative Commons Music and local musicians will provide a service to the community and our local music artists.

My plan is to keep it Homegrown and special. Local bands and local people providing community education and entertainment on a Veterans Organizaton Patriotic FM Station is our Goal.

Twisp has something to teach the world as we grow together serving one another in our small, rural community.
